DIME BEAUTY

DEZ:

I’m sure by now it’s pretty evident to you Honies, skincare is definitely one of our (many) favs. So, when we saw a newer skincare line on the market and so many of our favorite influencers were going crazy over it, we knew we had to give it shot. Yes, I’m talking about Dime Beauty. I felt like overnight my most watched influencers went from constantly talking about Tula to a quick switch to raving about various Dime Beauty products.
The Honies and I decided to try out the $49 Serum Set to see what all the hype was about. The set includes 1 oz bottles of both the Hyaluronic Acid Serum & Hyper Glow Serum. I was incredibly excited to get these products and to start using them, but I think I set my expectations a little too high. To my surprise, I wasn’t wowed by either product. I had stopped all my other skincare products, besides my cleanser, eye cream and moisturizer, to give these serums a fair shot. After a consistent month of use I didn’t see much of a difference in my skin. The Hyaluronic Acid Serum has more of a true serum consistency, which was nice, but I didn’t feel like it provided “intense hydration” or a “bounce” to my skin. When the serum was immediately applied I felt hydrated, but it didn’t seem long lasting. On the other hand, the Hyper Glow literally had the consistency of water, which made it difficult to measure how much I was using. Every time I used the Hyper Glow it felt as if I was simply applying water to my face. In reading reviews, it sounds like the consistency issue is simply how the product was created, but it supposedly is a “powerful glow serum” with great benefits. Sadly, I personally did not witness any glow or brightening benefits that I was so hopeful for.
Unfortunately, I must go against the popular influencer opinion on these two products and say this is a Honey, No. In my opinion, there are many other products like these on the market that have much better results.
PJ:

A totally natural and clean skincare line. What is not to love? The smell, that is what’s not to love. And the results, those were non-existent. The concept of Dime Beauty is amazing and I really wanted to love it. I tried both the Hyper glow serum and the Hyaluronic Acid serum. I was unimpressed with both.
I noticed no major changes to my skin and I didn’t particularly enjoy the way they felt when being applied. They were what I would call a forgettable product, leaving no impact and no desire for repeated use. For this reason, Dime is a Honey, NO for me.
TAYLER:

When we heard about Dime Beauty, a new clean and sustainable beauty brand that all our fav influencers were raving about, all three of us jumped at the opportunity to try it out! We decided to go with the serum set which included 2 products- the Hyper Glow and the Hyaluronic Acid Serum. I had been using The Ordinary’s Hyaluronic Serum for a few months and actually really liked it so I was excited to compare a more affordable option (The Ordinary) to a pricier one (Dime Beauty).
So, I will start by saying I love the sleek black and gold packaging but unfortunately, not much else. While I really wanted to love these products I often found myself not enjoying applying them due to the smell of them when they combined. When you smell each one on their own they don’t really smell like anything as they are fragrance free. I don’t know if something happens when the two are combined or if they simply mix with your unique pH to create a weird scent but SOMETHING happens. The closest I can relate the smell to is a bad self-tanner aroma.
After noticing that unpleasant side effect I will admit I had a hard time using this set consistently. I would say that I used maybe 1/4 of each bottle or less (hard to say because the bottles are matte black so I can’t see inside). Even when I did use for one week straight I didn’t find any noticeable positive effects.
I may continue to use them separately because I didn’t have any negative results (aside from the above mentioned smell). Plus I hate wasting money and would hate to throw $50 down the drain entirely. I will ultimately be sticking with my The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid Serum as it is much more affordable, and I might even add, works better for me than the Dime Beauty version. I honestly don’t hate it enough to give it a Honey, No so this set just gets a Meh from me!

Hello! Interesting blog post! I have been a regular website visitor (a bit more like addict :P) on your website although I had a challenge. I am not necessarily quite certain if it is the right place to ask, but there are no spam comments. I get comments exactly like watch movies online everyday. Possibly can you help me? Thanks for your insight.

THANK YOU for being honest about Dime. People are really falling for it because the brand was smart and hired on the top influencers. I was sent product free to try as a micro influencer and was not impressed at all. Thank you die being honest and not claiming it’s great, like many I’m sure do…

Thank you for your comment Lindsay! We know how those influencer deals can sometimes skew their judgment of products which is why we started this blog! We are so happy you’re here for it as we definitely aim for honesty.

Hey there just wanted to give you a quick heads up and let you know a few of the
images aren’t loading correctly. I’m not sure why but I think its a linking
issue. I’ve tried it in two different browsers and both show the same outcome.
