BEAUTYCOUNTER MELTING BODY BALM/ KIEHLS CREME DE CORPS

PJ:

Since switching over to clean and fragrance free products to help with my endo, I have struggled to find a really good clean lotion for my dry hands, feet, knees and elbows. Lotions are notoriously always scented or have parabens in them. Luckily one of my favorite clean beauty brands, Beauty Counter came to the rescue!

I decided to give their Melting Body Balm a try since I trust them to always have safe and clean products (I mean the company has been lobbying the government for better regulations for years!). WOW! WOW! WOW! I love this product so much. It is so hydrating and luxurious and leaves skin so soft. It also smells like a tropical vacation which I definitely do not mind! You can use the product on wet skin right after the shower or for extra hydration you can apply to dry areas like hands, feet, knees and elbows throughout the day. I seriously can’t live without it now. This one is a Honey, YASSS all the way!

TAYLER:

Living in Arizona has many pros and a couple cons. Pro: we have absolutely gorgeous weather about 8-9 months out of the year. Con: the other 3-4 months are insanely hot. Like easily cook an egg on the pavement kind of hot! The upside of our scorching summer’s are that it’s a “dry” heat- meaning very little humidity, if any. This dryness is welcomed since humidity tends to amplify heat. So, at least our 110 degree day feels true to a 110 and not exaggerated to 120 due to the humidity factor.

Ok, enough with the meteorology lesson. My point here is that Arizona is an extremely dry place 90% of the time. (It is a desert after-all!) Keeping my hair, face and skin moisturized in this climate is absolutely imperative. Ever since I was little, I remember my grandma always having a huge bottle of Creme de Corps on her bathroom countertop. She swore by it for her dry skin. I can even recall making numerous trips to the Nordstrom’s Kiehl’s counter in order to replenish her all-time favorite moisturizer.

Fast forward about 25 years or so, and here I am looking for the answer to solve my own dry skin issues. While my face is extremely oily, my body tends to get very dry and the cheap drugstore stuff just wasn’t cutting it anymore. Then I remembered my grandmas go-to moisturizer, Creme de Corps. I knew it worked great and really delivered the moisture but I also knew that it was pricey. Since I hadn’t used it in a while, I decided that instead of immediately splurging on a bigger bottle, I would try out a smaller size. I happened to find a travel sized set on Kiehl’s website that with a few other products that I was also excited to try out.

Safe to say, I still love it. It works wonders for dry, parched, cracked, flaky or even sun-burnt skin. It is thick, creamy and feels luxurious as it goes on. Yet, it does not leave you feeling sticky at all which is a must. While I can appreciate that it is fragrance free, I do wish they had a version that was infused with some sort of essential oil to give some sort of residual fresh scent. Aside from that, this lotion is definitely a Honey, Yasss for me. Yes, this stuff is expensive for lotion, however you really only need to use a small amount to achieve some great results so just keep that in mind!

DEZ:

As far as skincare goes, we know your girl is constantly looking for all the extra moisture she can get. The rest of my body is the exact same way. I constantly find myself looking for body moisturizers that actually keep my skin moisturized and hydrated for longer than a few hours.

I have a few favorites, but I’m always ready to give a brand an honest shot. That’s why we decided to test out the Kiehl’s Crème de Corps body lotion. It’s one of those lotions that instantly gives your skin a quick quench of moisture, but without the leftover greasy feeling. I’ve found that when using this lotion on a regular basis the dryness of my skin is significantly reduced overall. Not to mention, it feels moisturized for the entire day and sometimes even into the next day. It does lack in fragrance, but I’d prefer no fragrance over an overpowering unpleasant one, any day. Although, it can be a bit on the pricier side, this bottle of moisture is worth every penny. You’ll definitely want to try this one out. It’s a Honey, Yasss for me!
